CBL

CBL is CBALC’s IPL with a twist of Business in it. There are 18 in-house teams consisting of players comprising of all the three years competing among themselves in various management events. CBL acts as a platform for students to positively develop their emotional, intellectual, social, and interpersonal aspects. By working and performing with other individuals, students learn to strategize, negotiate, communicate, manage conflicts and lead others.

CBL (Cbalc Business League) is an activity-driven 360o approach for student development that was inspired by the professional league model in sports and the Indian Premier League. CBL offers activity-driven learning to the students aimed at 3Es – “Exposure, Experience and Education”.

  • CBL began its first season in 2011 and has witnessed eleven seasons.
  • It is conducted for an entire academic year with the aim of development among all the students (as players, owners and crew members).
  • Each team is owned by Final Year students.
  • Owners pick players from second and first-year through an auction/bidding process.
  • All the events in CBL are organized by the student crew under the guidance and supervision of all the faculty
  • The performance is judged by experts from the Industry and Academia.
  • CBL Season 3 had 12 teams.

The auction for CBL Season 3 Teams was done on 31st May 2012 for 4 Second Year Students for each team and on 14th August 2012 for 3 first-year students as players for each team. The Season 3 of CBL  started with an Icebreaker event and continued with various competitions of communication, presentation, and marketing, etc.

Team “Crusaders” won the General Championship.

  • CBL Season 4 had 13 teams, with the addition of Fierce Dynamic Conquers (FDC) as a new team.

The auction for CBL Season 4 Teams was done on 30th July 2013 with a team composition of 3 second-year members and 4 first-year members. The Season 4 of CBL came to an end on 16th April 2014 with Aficionados, Royal Tuskers, Dragon Streaks, Eminent Combatants competing in the finals.

Team “Aficionados” won the General Championship.

  • CBL Season 5 comprised 12 teams, Afficianados, Fiery Fighters, Eminent Combatants, Destroyers, Mavericks, Mighty Avengers, Trojans, Royal Tuskers, Dragon Streaks, FDC, Impugners and Crusaders.

The auction for CBL Season 5 Teams was done on 16th August 2014 with a team composition of 4 second-year members and 5 first-year members. Various Management events like Quiz, Pick & Speak, Finance events, HR events, and Case Analysis, etc were organized by the crew members every week.

The Season 5 of CBL came to an end on 12th April 2014 with Aficionados, Fiery Fighters, Eminent Combatants, Crusaders, Mavericks and Impugners competing in the finals.

Team “Aficionados” won the General Championship.

CBL Season – 6

CBALC launched its CBL Season – 6 which consisted 13 participating teams. Chief Guest Shri Madan Mohan, Vice President- HR, Aequs Private Ltd. Belagavi addressed the gathering by highlighting the importance of team work, competition and decision making. He said decision making is  an important skill one must possess to be entrepreneurial. He also appreciated the organizers by complementing that the event was organized better than any other corporate events he has seen in his last 25 years of career.

CBL Season 7

It comprises of teams owned by Final Year students. Each team consists of a selected number of Second year and First year students. These teams compete among themselves in various business events like Case Analysis, Ad Mad, Hard Sell, Business Plan, Etc. CBL ensures each student gets good exposure to management events and provides students an excellent platform to exhibit their talent. On15th January, 2017 the CBL Season 7 was launched and a round of Ice-breaker for 20 teams was conducted.

CBL Season 8

Each team consists of a selected number of Second year and First year students. These teams compete among themselves in various business events like Case Analysis, Ad Mad, Hard Sell, Business Plan, Etc. CBL ensures each student gets good exposure to management events and provides students an excellent platform to exhibit their talent.

Season 8 had 13 teams competing with each other. Team Gladiators won the General Championship trophy.

CBL Season 9

  • Each team consists of a selected number of Second year and First year students. These teams compete among themselves in various business events like Case Analysis, Ad Mad, Hard Sell, Business Plan, quiz, marketing, human resources, finance, team work Etc. CBL ensures each student gets good exposure to management events and provides students an excellent platform to exhibit their talent. Season 9 had 17 teams competing with each other.
